The 'Christian' Church and Sunday Closure Laws

There are strong moves afoot in the United States of America and Europe from various professed Christian churches to have the government legislate Sunday into law.

The following are some sentiments given for doing so.

1. In many countries around the world, there are laws in place that require businesses to close on Sundays. These laws, often known as Sunday closure laws or Blue Laws in the USA have been a topic of debate for some time. However, for many Christian believers, these laws hold great importance and significance.

   
   

2. Sunday closure laws have their roots in Christian tradition, as Sunday is typically recognized as the day of worship and rest for Christians. This day is seen as a time to attend religious services, spend time with family, and reflect on one's faith. By having businesses closed on Sundays, it allows believers the opportunity to participate in these important activities without the distractions of work or shopping.

3. For Christian believers, having Sunday closure laws in place helps to uphold the sacredness of the 'Sabbath' day. It provides a designated time for spiritual rejuvenation and connection with one's faith community. By ensuring that businesses are closed on Sundays, it sends a message that this day is different from the rest of the week and is to be treated as such.

4. Additionally, Sunday closure laws can have a positive impact on families and communities. By having a common day off each week, it allows families to spend quality time together and participate in activities that strengthen their bond. It also provides an opportunity for communities to come together, whether through attending religious services, participating in social events, or simply enjoying a day of rest.

They help to preserve the values and traditions that are important to many Christian believers, and provide a designated day for worship and family time.

6. While Sunday closure laws may not be popular with everyone, for Christian believers, they hold great significance. By upholding these laws, it allows for a day of rest, worship, and reflection that is vital to one's spiritual well-being.

BAD IDEA WHICH NONETHELESS WILL COME TO PASS ACCORDING TO PROPHECY

Unfortunately Sunday laws while purporting to defend religious freedom in fact do the very opposite and actually signal the end of religious liberty. Papal Rome has called on numerous occasions for the legislation of Sunday.

POPE LEO XIV

Interesting the new Pope took the name Leo XIV but remember what Pope Leo the XIII his predecessor said about Sunday in his Encyclical Rerum Novarum:

40. The working man, too, has interests in which he should be protected by the State; and first of all, there are the interests of his soul. Life on earth, however good and desirable in itself, is not the final purpose for which man is created; it is only the way and the means to that attainment of truth and that love of goodness in which the full life of the soul consists. It is the soul which is made after the image and likeness of God; it is in the soul that the sovereignty resides in virtue whereof man is commanded to rule the creatures below him and to use all the earth and the ocean for his profit and advantage. "Fill the earth and subdue it; and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth."(29) In this respect all men are equal; there is here no difference between rich and poor, master and servant, ruler and ruled, "for the same is Lord over all."(30) No man may with impunity outrage that human dignity which God Himself treats with great reverence, nor stand in the way of that higher life which is the preparation of the eternal life of heaven. Nay, more; no man has in this matter power over himself. To consent to any treatment which is calculated to defeat the end and purpose of his being is beyond his right; he cannot give up his soul to servitude, for it is not man's own rights which are here in question, but the rights of God, the most sacred and inviolable of rights. 

41. From this follows the obligation of the cessation from work and labor on Sundays and certain holy days. The rest from labor is not to be understood as mere giving way to idleness; much less must it be an occasion for spending money and for vicious indulgence, as many would have it to be; but it should be rest from labor, hallowed by religion. Rest (combined with religious observances) disposes man to forget for a while the business of his everyday life, to turn his thoughts to things heavenly, and to the worship which he so strictly owes to the eternal Godhead. It is this, above all, which is the reason arid motive of Sunday rest; a rest sanctioned by God's great law of the Ancient Covenant-"Remember thou keep holy the Sabbath day,"(31) and taught to the world by His own mysterious "rest" after the creation of man: "He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done."(32)

There are Sunday Laws called Blue Laws on the books of 28 states of the USA waiting to come into effect.

Below are samples of widespread sentiments which will lead to the loss of religious liberty and revival of discrimination and persecution of dissenters such as not been seen since the Dark Ages when Papal Rome reigned supreme. RECAPPING REVELATION CHAPTER 13

1. There are two beasts in Revelation 13

2. A beast is used in prophecy to symbolise a nation, power or kingdom

3. The first beast of Revelation 13:1-10 is Papal Rome

4. The second beast of Revelation 13:11-17 is Protestant USA

CRYPTIC SUNDAY LAW CLUE IN REV 13:12

"And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." Rev 13:12

UNPACKING REVELATION 13:12

"And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,..."

• The "he" is the second beast of revelation 13, the church / state USA.

• This beast, the USA, will exercise all the power of the first beast.

• The first beast, Rome, was a union of church and state.

• Expect the US Christian Protestant church to unite with the state

• The first beast, Rome, used the power of the STATE to persecute

• Expect the second beast to persecute & kill all dissenters.

• More specifically, Rome killed TRUE Christians: Daniel 7:25, Rev 13:7

• US professed Christianity will follow suit and do the same: vs 12,15

".....and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed."

What does it mean to "CAUSETH the EARTH" to worship the first beast?

To cause is to enforce or to "make" one do something - see Strongs Concordance on Rev 13:12

The Second beast will enforce by legislation the EARTH and THEM that dwell therein to worship the first beast.

HOW DOES HE CAUSE THE EARTH TO WORSHIP?

The EARTH here represents the literal earth itself rather than a place of “few people” as in verse 11 else it would make the interpretation of the verse under consideration non-sensical as it would read: “causeth the earth (few people) and them (people) which dwell therein to worship the first beast.”

Rather the earth here refers to the earth itself. In what way can the earth be made to worship? (Exo 23:10-11).

Scripture gives us a clue in that WORSHIP has to do with a particular day ordained for that purpose. As it was in ancient days, the earth or land "enjoyed her Sabbaths" 2Chronicles 36:21, Leviticus 26:34 when she remained unworked on the Sabbath day, i.e. the landed rested and kept Sabbath as well as the people, so by implication laws enforcing the earth to worship the beast, will necessarily allow the earth a day of rest "to worship" in that the land or earth will remain unworked.

THE "TYPE" OF THE EARTH BEING MADE TO WORSHIP

“And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy olive yard.” Exodus 23:10,11

“To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.” 2Chronicles 36:21

“Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths. As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.” Leviticus 26:34,35

In the Old Testament the land or earth was rested when she lay desolate and not worked. She enjoyed her Sabbaths so long as she was unworked according to the Lord. Therefore, she worshipped in this instance the Lord, God of heaven. Unfortunately in Revelation 13, the earth is made to worship the first beast and will be rested according to the day of worship of the beast i.e. Sunday.

A "SABBATH" (SUNDAY) LAW IMPLIED IN VERSE 12

• The USA will enforce a ‘Sabbath’ rest for the worship of the beast.

• This "Sabbath" rest will allow the Earth to rest as well.

• Hence the Earth is said to "participate" in the worship of the beast.

• The Mark of the beast has to do with worship – verses 4,8,12,15,16

• Worship has to do with a day of worship.

• The first beast represents Papal Rome.

• Hence the Mark of the beast is the Mark of the Papal Rome beast.

• The day of worship in that system is SUNDAY.

• *Sunday worship is the MARK of authority of Papal Rome

• The ENFORCEMENT of SUNDAY LAWS is the MARK of the Beast.

• The Earth will ‘worship’ the first beast when not ‘worked’ on Sunday.

• The USA causes the earth to worship by RESTING it on Sunday.

• No-one has the Mark of the Beast as yet.

• People receive the Mark when they consciously decide for it.

In Revelation 13:1-10 we are dealing with the beast with seven heads and ten horns, more specifically, the head or kingdom that received a deadly wound. The only head of the 7 heads that ever received a deadly wound is the Papal Head - Papal Rome.

• We are told that all the world wondered after the beast - v 3

• All the world worshipped the beast – v 4

• All whose names are not in the book of life worship the beast – v 8

• All will be MADE to worship the beast with the deadly wound – v 12

• All will be made to make an image to the beast with the wound – v 14

All the world will pay homage to Papal Rome in one way or another.

The Sunday Law will be universal as every nation will support & legislate it.

All dissenters will be punished – cannot buy or sell or by penalty of death.

TONGA

By the Sabbath, they mean Sunday not Saturday, the Seventh Day Sabbath of the Bible

We commence with the Polynesians Islands or Kingdom of Tonga in the Pacific because it is unique in being the only country in the world that has a 'total' ban on Sunday. It is the only country which doesn't open on Sundays - 'everything' is closed ! As they say in Tonga, on Sunday Tongans do three things: LOTU (go to church), KAI (eat) and MOHE (sleep). The Sunday Sabbath Law is enshrined in the Tongan Constitution. It is said that Tonga converted to Christianity in 1839 when the King, George Tupou I instituted the Vava'u Code (First Constitution) and committed Tonga to Christianity with the support of Methodist Missionaries.

AMERICA - VIRGINIA

In the US, we start with the State of Virginia because it was the first state to pass Sunday Blue Laws in 1610. These were repealed by the Virginia Supreme Court in only 1988. Can they be recalled? The prophecy says they will. Notice how similar it is to Revelation 13:

“Every man and woman shall repair in the morning to the divine service, and sermons preached upon the Sabbath day, and in the afternoon to divine service, and catechizing, upon pain for the first fault to lose their provision and the allowance for the whole week following; for the second, to lose the said allowance and also be whipt; and for the third to suffer death.” ​Articles, Lawes, and Orders, Divine, Politique, and Martiall for the Colony of Virginea, in William Strachey, For the Colony in Virginea Britannia: Lawes, Divine, Morall and Martiall, Etc. Liquor stores are closed on Sundays

Texas has strict liquor laws that prohibit the sale of liquor on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. These laws, commonly known as "blue laws", were enacted to preserve Sunday as a day of worship and rest, and they have been a topic of debate in the state. While many original blue laws have been repealed, Texas's blue laws still restrict the sale of alcohol and automobiles on Sundays.

ICELAND

Manchester Evening News shared the news on social media, and the response was overwhelming. While many praised Iceland for the decision, most people saw it as an opportunity to demand the law change to allow supermarkets to close on Sunday.

Andrea Harris said: "When I was growing up no supermarkets opened on a Sunday. Sundays should be family day and a day of rest." Lynn Chilcott asked: "Why do we need stores open Sundays? They were always closed on a Sunday when I was a child .. day of rest. We always managed."

Angela Jackson said: "Don't open on a Sunday.. End of! We used to manage and I'm sure we'd manage again... Give staff a day off rest!" Jean Wright exclaimed: "GOOD !!! SHOULD NOT SHOP ON SUNDAYS YOU HAVE 6 DAYS TO SHOP REST ON THE 7th AMEN."

Heather Hall wrote: "Good close on Sunday give employees day off." Pamela Tovey Train commented: "I worked in retail, most of my life. Now is the opportunity to close on Sunday. Give the staff some family time."

Faye Giblin said: "Well it’s a start. Would like to see a leader in the move towards Sunday closed. Relieve workers, shoppers and the carbon footprint." Helena Louise added: "Close all shops on a Sunday!"

Terry Blackley wrote: "Why not close on Sunday's, and give the workers a day off, customers have only a certain amount of money to spend, if they don't spend on a Sunday they'll spend it another day." Eddie Power said: "Should all be closed on Sunday."

The current Sunday trading laws state that all large shops over 280 square metres can open on Sundays but only for 6 consecutive hours between 10am and 6pm. Small shops in England and Wales can open any day or hour.

The Sunday Trading Act was passed into law in 1994. Before this, shops were unable to open on Sundays.

NORWAY

"The general rule is that all shops must be closed on Sundays, so you will not be able to go shopping for either souvenirs or groceries on a Sunday in Norway. However, kiosks, gas stations and grocery stores that are smaller than 100 m² can be open on Sundays, so there are some options if you want to go shopping or need some food."

POLAND

Poland has some of the strictest trading laws in Europe regarding Sunday shopping. Since the introduction of the "Sunday trading ban" in March 2018, most large stores and supermarkets must remain closed on Sundays, with only a few exceptions throughout the year.

The purpose of this regulation was to support family life, encourage workers to rest, and boost smaller, locally-owned businesses. It also reflects cultural values deeply rooted in Poland’s predominantly Catholic society, where Sunday is traditionally a day of rest.
